A Vintage Shop Grows On Foster

As area residents longingly await the opening of the new crêpe shop on Foster Avenue, they might not realize that another business is already up and running at the back of that store.

Tresor en Fleur, an elegant vintage jewelry and clothing store is nestled in the back nook of 1715 Foster Ave., between E. 17th St. and E. 18th St.

The boutique is owned by Judith Gayle, sister-in-law of La Crepe et La Vie's owner.

"It's a family business," he said.

Besides jewelry, the boutique sells handmade greeting cards, women's accessories, such as purses, and men's and women's vintage clothing. Some of the items were purchased out right by the owner, others are on consignment.

So next time you're walking by, salivating for a crêpe, perhaps you can satiate your appetite with a 1950s bracelet, or 1970s necklace instead.
