This might be a problem if the districts spending more didn't get better results than the districtsRead More spending less. We know that in general (with some exceptions of course) the higher spending districts get better results. If districts want to spend more, and the taxpayers vote to support the boards of education in these districts, then nothing can or should be done to stop them. What the state can control is the amount of state aid that goes to each district. The state should be supporting the poor districts and not the rich districts. If a poor district can't afford to fund their schools, they should be helped. If a rich district refuses to fund their schools, they should not be helped.

I agree an SSA need to be protected in order to help others. How? Each agent should have a bulletRead More proof / stab vest. They should also carry batons and pepper spray. These items along with practical training, active shooter, hard /soft lockdowns will help the officers to provide safety to our public schools. Times are different we must change with them or we will fail. These new items would prove to be of benefit in regards to outsiders for the most part.

What a scam Walcott is pulling. The DOE long-ago decided to put the money that could be used to saveRead More cash-starved programs into useless programs no one wanted (ARIS, TDRs, Group Merit Pay programs, etc.). Walcott is using the media to scare parents into supporting an evaluation system that will put more and more emphasis on teaching to the test (meaning schools will cut the programs he is talking about in favor of test-prep). Don't believe his hype!

I really appreciate the decision taken by DOE as online learning is something that can be of greatRead More use in situations like these. There are e-learning platforms like WizIQ that provide a great way to let teachers and students connect over long distances via its virtual classroom technology where geographical separation becomes a barrier.
