If you love coffee and you want a nice place to relax and enjoy a piece of life, I recommend goingRead More to Coffee Mob. The owner and workers are super nice and are open to any suggestions. I spent a good chunk of my day studying while drinking the Assam Tea with a chocolate croissant (which was yummy!). (Hopefully the positive vibes from the coffee shop will carry into my exam tomorrow. :) ) But yes, everyone should go!

This store will fit more appropriately in a fast growing environment like Williamsburg's North sideRead More near the river (North 4 to North 7 between Kent & Withe). There it will not compete with local businesses because the growth pace of the neighborhood is such that established businesses will still maintain their level of traffic while at the same time there's enough clients for a new store. Another place with a similar configuration is Long Island City, near the river, by the new Hunter's Point South project. the new incoming population could have more choices while established businesses would not lose traffic. It was, and still is, a bad idea for Walmart to look for space around poorer neighborhoods. They have to realize that the term "poverty pimp" is a very powerful one in NYC. In here discount retail is more successful among the younger, better educated and more affluent, newcomers when these are in newer mixed income developments like Williamsburg's riverside North Side and Hunter's Point/LIC.
