Registration for NYC Century Bike Tour Still Open

If you were considering participating in the 23rd annual NYC Century Bike Tour on Sunday, Sept. 9, there's still time! 

The NYC Century Bike Tour, according to the event's Web site, is an "integral starting point for year-round bicycling." With one of the tour's two starting points located in nearby , there's no reason to not partake in the fun. 

"…[T]he routes are designed to show riders the diversity of New York’s neighborhoods and how to navigate them safely," the Web site says. "To illustrate bicyclists' right to the streets, there are no street closings on the NYC Century -- bicyclists ride with traffic and obey all traffic laws."   

To accommodate riders of every skill set, there are 15, 35, 55, 75 and 100-mile rides. Starting times vary, so be sure to check the site before embarking on your journey. 

Each adult registrant must register individually. Parents and guardians may register on behalf of minors within their own registration process.

For those interested in participating in the day's events without actually riding, volunteers are still needed in Prospect Park to help check-in riders and serve as standing marshals. All volunteers receive a t-shirt and water bottle for their service.
