P.S. 139 Fundraises for Teachers and Staff Affected by Sandy

At P.S. 139's annual clothing swap and blood drive on Sat., Nov. 17, the parents association will host a bake sale to raise funds for the cause.

 

Like many organizations throughout the State, a local public school is raising funds and awareness to benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The fundraiser is a personal one for the school, as funds raised will go to benefit the teachers and staff personally affected by Sandy. 

Many P.S. 139 staffers lost their homes or sustained severe flood damage as a result of the hurricane, wrote resident Lynne Yeamans. She noted it is important to remember the impact Sandy had on people who work in the Ditmas Park community every day.
