P.S. 249 held their first annual carnival for students and family Tuesday, and the event went off without a hitch.
Students were brought to the carnival, held in the school's yard, by grade, and families of the students were welcome to join in on the fun, according to Nyoka Mackey, parent coordinator for the school.

Children took part in carnival games, physical activities, face painting, were treated to carnival snacks and danced the day away to music provided by a D.J.
Mackey noted the school is considering opening the carnival up to the public next year.
