Ditmas Park Youngsters Sell Cookies for Hurricane Sandy

Youngsters sell cookies on Cortelyou Road in the cold to donate monies to help Hurricane Sandy survivors.

Naomi Henry (aged 10 yrs), her friend Hannah and her mom Johanna Henry were standing outside of the Cortelyou Road Library Wednesday night, Nov. 14th selling hot apple cider and homemade holiday cookies to help those affected by Hurricane Sandy. The cider was delicious and welcome on a cold winter evening, and I was told the cookies sold out!

Naomi told me she had been in the mood to bake cookies and got together with her friend Hannah, and then decided she wanted to sell them to help the survivors of the storm.

Naomi is one of the many generous and wonderful neighbors we have in Ditmas Park that have been sending donations, hot food and volunteering. I would like to say that I am very proud of Naomi, and all the other fantastic neighbors that have done what they can great and small, because everything counts and is appreciated.
