Firefighters quickly put out a fire in a first floor apartment at 35 Tennis Court Saturday afternoon.
The blaze in the large apartment building at the intersection of E. 19th Street near Church Avenue was called in at 3:10 p.m. and was under control by 3:26 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said.
Twelve fire trucks and about 65 firefighters responded to the blaze. There were no injuries.
