At 7:47 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18, an MTA employee was arrested and charged with assault within the confines of the 70th Precinct, according to police.
Q 35 Bus Driver Robert Volkens, 42, was on duty when a man attempted to board his bus without paying a fare, police said.
Another passenger paid the man's fare, the man boarded, rode the bus and when he went to exit, he spit at Volkens, police said. Volkens reacted and was then arrested and charged with assault in the third degree, police continued.
Police could not confirm the exact location of the incident. The incident is under investigation.
