Summer Solstice Celebration, Yoga, Karaoke in Ditmas Park

Many things to do and participate in Thursday


With so many things going on in Ditmas Park Thursday afternoon and evening, there's surely something for everyone.


Join Prospect Park in celebrating the longest day of the year by participating in ! Local musicians will perform throughout the day both on the dock and the balcony. The Beat Cave will also be open for musicians to record and we'll be making instruments, so everyone can join. There will also be performances throughout the day in front of the Cortelyou Library.



Yoga studios across Brooklyn are teaming up with Lululemon to bring yogis old and new . Classes begin at 7 p.m. and are open-level. Enter the park at Grand Army Plaza and walk onto the Long Meadow.


Head to Sycamore at 9 p.m. for some old-school tunes brought to the bar by . It's all vinyl, and it's all delivered by real live DJs, who change throughout the night.



The with sign-ups at 8:30 p.m. and the show at 9 p.m. Join the party this week with Bill Bern and Matt Seneca for yet another great time. Perform, watch others perform, or drink - or do all three. Sets are 15 minutes and anything goes; you can sing, perform comedy, recite poetry, a capella, hula-hoop or whatever your heart desires!

All so come to Cortelyou Library Plaza from 12:20 to 4:00 for Jazz, grade 4 band and folk music. Newkirk Plaza has local Jason Walker from 12:00-1:00 and folk/indi band Out of System transfer at 5:00ish. Cankoone will perform at 6 if I can get him to clean up the lyrics. :) FDC has the music permit at each location with time to fill so if you would like to play today give us a call 917-459-8191.
