Councilmember Mathieu Eugene, the NYC Department of Parks and Recreation and Community Board 9 will mark the opening of the Parkside Playground with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and opening celebration Saturday at 10 a.m.

Although not directly in Ditmas Park, the playground can serve as an additional resource for children and the community at large.
Located on Winthrop Street betnween Bedford and Rogers Avenues, the park opening will be a day of basketball, handball and chess tournaments, as well as free food, games and rides.
