Chai Lifeline, a non-profit dedicated to bettering the lives of ill children and their families through fun programs and financial aid, has added a van to its fleet to further its mission.
The van will help provide free transportation for families of children with serious illnesses living in Flatbush to their medical appointments in Manhattan.
Brooklyn Community Foundation provided funds from its $18,000 grant from its Caring Neighbors Fund to help Chai Lifeline purchase the van.
Prior to the addition of the new van, Chai Lifeline’s fleet made more than 15,000 trips a year to doctor’s offices and hospitals.
