Victorian Flatbush House Tour Endangered

Unless at least 10 more neighbors are willing to open up their homes or gardens, the annual Victorian Flatbush House Tour, that was expected to take place on June 14, 2009, will be cancelled. From FDC:

What does volunteering your home entail? You are agreeing to let people tour your home to see all the amazing architecture and hard work you have put in. We have volunteers at your home during the event to ensure nothing happens during the tour. If there are parts of your home you don't want people to see, let us know. We can accommodate. Not so sure you want people in your house, but you have a fabulous garden? We would love to include that too. As a thank you for participating, we host a house tour party for all our volunteers, it's a chance to meet neighbors and we get an opportunity to thank you.
The Annual Victorian Flatbush House Tour is currently planned for June 14, 2009 from 1-6 p.m. This event draws over 500 people to our neighborhood and is an important fundraiser for FDC. The drop dead date to participate is May 8th. For more information about what volunteering your homes means, please contact Aga Trojniak, Director of Housing & Immigration Programs, at 718 859-4763.
