TV, Film Crews Flock to Ditmas Park This Week

No parking on many blocks throughout the neighborhood Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

More producers are jumping on the use-Ditmas-Park-as-a-backdrop bandwagon and will be flocking to the neighborhood throughout the rest of the week, according to signs posted on local blocks.

One shoot with the non-descriptive title "film shoot" listed on signs will film on Marlborough Road between Albemarle and Beverley Roads from 6 a.m. to midnight on Thurs., Oct. 18. Cars must be moved off the block by Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Another project titled "Orange is the New Black," a series based on Piper Kerman's memoir about time spent in prison and starring Taylor Schilling, Jason Biggs and Laura Prepon, will also make its mark on the neighborhood this week.

The series will film on Dorchester Road from Coney Island Ave. and Marlborough Road, as well as on Argyle Road between Dorchester Road and Ditmas Avenue on Fri., Oct. 19. Cars must be moved from these blocks by 10:30 p.m. Thursday night.
