The main thing I learned -- or was reminded -- in the recent Times profile of "Flatbush" was ... just how vaguely defined a neighborhood that is.
In their view, Flatbush is a neighborhood stretching from Ocean Avenue to New York Avenue, with Flatbush Avenue it's main thoroughfare. That's not quite how this neighborhood works in reality, is it? The piece seems to blur a handful of neighborhoods into one.
But that story spurred a more tightly focused profile of Ditmas Park on Reclaimed Home, which had this warning:
