Streich-Kest Family Creates Fund to Offset Vet Bills

The fund will also offset other costs the family may incur going forward, a representative for the family said.

The family of Jessie Streich-Kest, one of the two people struck and killed by a falling tree Monday night in Ditmas Park, has set up a fund to help with veterinary bills for Streich-Kest's dog, Max, who was injured when he was hit by the tree.

After Max was removed from the scene, Ditmas Park resident Sherry Spergel took him to a nearby animal hospital where it was determined he might have suffered a head injury. Veternarians detected no broken bones, however, and were monitoring Max as of Tuesday night.
