I asked proprietor Cuneyit Erdal about the situation today, and he said his wholesaler had relented, because of the flood of letters and emails from neighbors and because of the unwanted media attention.
In the meantime, he said, high gas prices mean business is still slow, so he's adding lottery tickets and cigarettes...
