We wrote last year about the travails of the Shell station on Beverley Road, whose mechanics have a lot of local friends, and the story of their wholesaler trying to jack up gasoline prices also made the Daily News.
I asked proprietor Cuneyit Erdal about the situation today, and he said his wholesaler had relented, because of the flood of letters and emails from neighbors and because of the unwanted media attention.
In the meantime, he said, high gas prices mean business is still slow, so he's adding lottery tickets and cigarettes...
