Run for Your Life to Celebrate the Marathon

The New York City Marathon is this Sunday, and though our neighborhood seems pretty far removed from the action, there's a great local connection: neighbor Judd Ehrlich made the film Run for Your Life, which chronicles the life of Fred Lebow, who fled his Orthodox home in war-torn Europe and found his calling when he brought together a ragtag group of runners for the first NYC Marathon in Central Park.

The Brooklyn Museum will screen the film at 7pm this Thursday, November 3, and will be followed by a Q&A with Ehrlich and special guests. Tickets are free with museum admission.

The film will also air a few times on THIRTEEN this marathon weekend: November 5 at 1pm, and at 7:30am and 12am on Marathon day.
