New Ditmas Park-Based Kevin Bacon Series Premieres Monday

A series that is set to premiere on Television Monday, and for many Ditmas Parkers, there's a good chance it will have a very familiar backdrop. 

"The Following," starring Kevin Bacon, will air at 9 p.m. on Monday on Fox. The show, a thriller from creator and executive producer Kevin Williamson (of "Dawson's Creek" and "The Vampire Diaries" fame), also stars James Purefoy and Shawn Ashmore. 

The highly-anticipated series features Bacon as former FBI agent Ryan Hardy, who is called upon by the FBI to catch a notorious serial killer he once put away who has escaped prison and is embarking on a new killing spree.  

Production crews from the show were a mainstay in Ditmas Park this summer, scouting for locations and filming scenes on many blocks in the neighborhood including East 17th Street between Ditmas Avenue and Dorchester Road as well as Argyle Road between Albermarle Road and Church Avenue.
