Ditmas Park
with Francis Morrone
Ditmas Park is one of the most popular neighborhoods in Brooklyn even as its splendid "Victorian" houses have ceased to be bargains. The streets of the Ditmas Park Historic District are among the most beautiful residential streets in the city, the commodious houses intermingled with outstanding houses of worship and interesting pockets of commerce. Like many parts of greater Flatbush, Ditmas Park has its origins in a carefully planned suburb laid out along the historic Brighton Line of the BRT, itself a highlight of the tour. This is also where the bungalow first migrated to the east coast.
