Supplies will go to St. Francis De Sales Parish to support NYC MORE.

A Ditmas Park resident has organized a supply collection to donate to families in the Rockaways affected by Superstorm Sandy.

"We have trained for a marathon and we intend to put one on. But instead of a foot race, we want a marathon of service," said Jaclynn Larington on the NYC MORE website. "We continue to draw on the spirit of endurance to turn this day into real action."

Corey will take supplies to the St. Francis De Sales Parish in the Rockaways Tuesday morning. "Please RSVP if you intend to stop by, and indicate what you intend to bring so I have a sense of what additional items we need," Corey said on the effort's Meetup page

She said that people interested in donating should check the page frequently, as she will update the page with what is needed as the day progresses.

"I've also been informed that hot food is needed in the mornings," she said, noting that people who would like to bring hot food should call her at 303-827-4973.

Other items needed include work gloves, heavy duty garbage bags, flashlights, C and D batteries, sweatshirts and jackets, underwear, diapers, wipes, blankets, feminine hygiene products and towels.
