Beverley Shell Trouble

Beverley Shell Trouble

We are huge fans of Lou at the Beverley Shell and were upset to hear of their troubles. A neighbor writes it up:

It has come to my attention that a local institution is being forced out of business.

The Beverly Shell Gas Station on Coney Island Ave. has been forced to purchase their gas supply at a higher premium from their distributor than franchised owned stations. This has produced a negative effect on their business. The distributor is doing this so that the Shell station can be resold as a franchise.

Locally owned establishments are what make our part of Brooklyn special. It gives us that feel of a small community even though we live in one of the largest cities in the world. We walk by stores everyday, wave and greet neighbors and develop a sense of community that I think is second to none.

I have come to know Lou Estrada and the other guys who work at the station. They have always been honest and professional in their work. Friendly and helpful to those who could or could not pay for services rendered. Please drop by the station at your earliest convenience and sign the petition that will be forwarded to the corporate offices (No purchases required). If you are unable to drop by, perhaps a visit to the distributor's website so that a note of support can be written would truly be appreciated.
