The Beauty Box, the hair and nail salon on Westminster between Church and Caton, closed a few months ago.
Before The Beauty Box, the space held a tattoo parlor, and before that another beauty salon, area residents said.
Matthew Pyle, a barber at Progresso Barber next-door, says he would like to see "anything but Chinese or another nail salon."
"Maybe something up-and-coming, fresh. Like that little bar they just opened on 40 Island Avenue," He said.
Because the shop is just off Church Avenue, as opposed on it, maybe the rent is a little less expensive. If true, the space could support a wider range of options.
