Summer Jewelry Classes at the Hungry Cat Cafe Jewelry Studio

This summer the Hungry Cat Cafe Jewelry Studio will be offering three jewelry courses. Each course will consist of six once-a-week classes. Classes start the week of July 16.

The tuition for each course will be $150. The courses are held at 455 Argyle Road. The tuition for each course is $150.

The three courses are:

 Introduction to Wire and Bead Jewelry

For those who have not worked with jewelry pliers, wire and beads before. Students will learn to work with jewelry pliers by making earrings, necklaces and bracelets using copper, brass and silver wire. Students will also learn how to make basic jewelry repairs including professionally restringing beads.

Intermediate Wire and Bead Jewelry

For those who’ve either taken an introductory course or are already comfortable working with jewelry pliers and can make both wrapped and open loops with pliers and wire. Take your jewelry skills and bring them to the next level. Topics for the class include different types of wire weaving, Byzantine chains and handmade hammered wire links.  

Introduction to Metal Clay

This course will explore working with copper, bronze and silver metal clays. Students will be able to purchase the metal clays from me at cost or purchase their own. Kiln firing costs are included during the course. Students will be able to to fire pieces at the studio after the course for nominal fees.
