5 Things: Bela Lugosi's 'Dracula' at Celebrate Brooklyn!

Plus a seafood throwdown at the Greenmarket, a woman's self defense class, a men's suit drive and a free songwriting circle for tweens.

1. Celebrate silent film. It's not often that one can see a classic silent film performed with a score played live, so don't miss the chance to see DRACULA WITH THE PHILLIP GLASS ENSEMBLE tonight at Celebrate Brooklyn! Kishi Bashi opens.

2. Support local fisheries. Make sure to get to the farmer's market by 11 a.m. to see the Seafood Throwdown at Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket, where Slow Food NYC and The Brooklyn Food Coalition will engage in an Iron Chef-style competition. Prospect Heights' very own Cheryl Smith of Cheryl’s Global Soul is one of the judges.

3. Just do it. Today at 3 p.m. there's a Woman's Self-Defense Seminar at Martial Arts USA. You've been meaning to take the class, so seize the day.

4. Suit up. Hey guys: you know that too-small (or too big) suit that's been sitting at the back of your closet? Donate it, along with ties and shirts at the Summer Suit Drive. Since the collection point is at Therapy Wine Bar, it's also a good excuse to spend the evening drinking. Don't have a suit to donate? Money's always good.

5. Inspire the tweens. If you have a child between the ages of 7 and 12, bring them to a Free Songwriting Circle in Prospect Park's Long Meadow today at 11 a.m. Although it's free, you must RSVP. Details at the link.
