Have You Seen These Iowa License Plates in Brooklyn?

Report on KCRG News says Brooklynites seeing cars with these out-of-town plates.

If you spied more than a few Iowa license plates in Ditmas Park recently and thought it odd, you're not alone. KCRG.com, an ABC affiliate news website, is reporting that Brooklyn residents are seeing vehicles with Linn County Iowa plates and are starting to wonder why.

"The Iowa Department of Transportation is investigating why two businesses have registered hundreds of vehicles in Iowa, but are conducting business in New York," the news agency reported. "The cars, with mostly Linn and Polk county plates could have a legitimate use, but they could also be part of criminal scheme, said Major Paul Steier with the Office of Motor Vehicle Enforcement."

"Human trafficking, drugs, you name it," Steier is quoted as saying in the story. "It’s still an active investigation."
